Legal Translation Service ("we," "us," "our") operates legaltranslationservice.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices and rights available to you.

What we collect

• Contact information you provide: name, email address, phone number, and organization, when you place an order, use the contact form, or email us directly.
• Order and delivery information: the services you order, language pairs, quantities, turnaround selection, add-ons, and — only when a physical delivery add-on is purchased — a postal address.
• Document file names and order instructions: when you place an order, you may type the names of documents you plan to send and any free-text instructions. This information is used to build your order summary.
• Payment demonstration data: checkout currently runs on a demonstration payment system. Card details you enter are used only in your browser to simulate a transaction; they are never transmitted to us, stored by us, or logged, and are cleared automatically.
• Technical and analytics information: if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 collects standard usage data (pages visited, general location at a city/region level, device and browser type) to help us understand how the site is used. This does not run unless you consent — see our Cookie Policy.
• Browser storage: your cart, your last five order references, and your cookie preference are stored in your browser's local storage so your order persists across visits. This information stays in your browser and is not transmitted to us until you place an order or contact us directly.

How we use it

We use the information above to: process and fulfill your order, communicate with you about your order, respond to questions you send us, and — only with your consent — understand site usage through analytics. We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not sell your personal information.

Documents are never uploaded through this site

This website does not have a document upload feature and does not run a server that receives files. When you place an order, your confirmation page provides an order reference and a pre-composed email addressed to support@legaltranslationservice.com. You choose to attach and send your documents through your own email account. Document contents you send us by email are handled by a limited team, used only to complete and support your order, and are not shared with third parties except as described below.

Sub-processors and disclosure

We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may share limited information with service providers who help us operate — for example, Google (Google Analytics 4), only after you consent to analytics cookies. We disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, and we do not otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties.

Retention

We retain order information and document contents for as long as needed to complete your order, support any correction or re-translation request under our acceptance commitment (up to 30 days after delivery, or longer if a request is in progress), and to meet basic recordkeeping needs. Contact information from general inquiries is retained only as long as needed to respond to you. You may request deletion at any time — see "Your CCPA/CPRA rights" below.

Security and confidentiality

We limit access to document contents and personal information to the team members who need it to complete your order. An NDA is available on request for litigation, patent, and corporate work. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us.

Your CCPA/CPRA rights (California residents)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information we have collected about you; delete personal information we hold about you (subject to certain exceptions); correct inaccurate personal information; and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of at this time). You will not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these rights, email support@legaltranslationservice.com with your request; we will respond within the time required by law.

EU/UK visitors

Some of our clients send documents from outside the United States. If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal information on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (processing your order), your consent (analytics cookies), and our legitimate interest in operating and improving the site. Your information is processed in the United States, where our servers and business operations are located; by using the site and sending us information, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal information, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
