Frequently asked questions
Does USCIS require a notarized translation?
No. USCIS requires a complete English translation accompanied by the translator’s signed statement that the translation is accurate and that the translator is competent to translate — it does not require notarization. If another institution in your case separately asks for a notarized translation, we can add that as well.
Will USCIS accept this translation?
We certify that the translation itself meets the requirement USCIS states for translated documents: complete, accurate, and accompanied by a signed statement of competence. We can’t control an individual officer’s decision on your overall case, but if the translation is rejected specifically for a translation-accuracy issue, we correct or re-translate it at no charge.
What counts as "a page"?
A page is up to 250 words of source text. A one-page certificate with 180 words is one page; a document with 400 words is billed as two pages.
Do I need to mail you the original document?
No. A clear photo or scan is enough for translation. If your case later requires a certified hard copy or a specific delivery method, add it as an option — the physical original never needs to travel to us.
How long does this take?
Standard turnaround is 2–3 business days. Rush (next business day) adds 40% to the line price; same-day is available for orders of 5 pages or fewer placed by 10:00 ET, for a flat $95.00.
Can you translate a document with stamps, seals, or handwriting in the margins?
Yes — and we do, as standard practice, not as an upsell. If the layout itself needs to be reproduced (tables, seals positioned exactly as on the original), add Format-matched layout for $12.00 per page.
What if my case involves multiple documents in different languages?
Add each document as its own line in your order, with its own source and target language. Everything ships together once the last one is complete, or separately if you tell us that’s better for your deadline.
