Terms of Service
Effective date: August 5, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of legaltranslationservice.com and any order you place with Legal Translation Service ("we," "us," "our"). By placing an order or using this site, you agree to these terms.
Who we are
Legal Translation Service is based at 849 US-42, Lebanon, OH 45036, USA, and provides certified and legal document translation, notarization coordination, apostille coordination, and legal interpreting to clients nationwide.
Scope of services
We translate documents and provide related certification, notarization coordination, apostille coordination, and legal interpreting, as described on each service page and priced according to our published rate card at the time of your order. Each service page states what is included and what is not; read the relevant page before ordering if you're unsure what you're purchasing.
What certification is — and is not
A certified translation is a translation accompanied by our signed Certificate of Accuracy, stating that the translation is complete and accurate and that the translator is competent to translate. Certification does not mean notarization, and it does not mean the receiving institution is guaranteed to accept a translation for reasons unrelated to translation accuracy (such as an application's underlying eligibility, formatting requirements unrelated to translation, or a change in the receiving institution's own requirements). We are responsible for the accuracy of the translation itself, described further under "Our acceptance and re-translation commitment" below.
Ordering and checkout
Orders are placed through our online configurator and checkout. Prices are shown before you complete checkout, calculated from our published per-unit rates, your chosen language pair's tier multiplier, your selected turnaround, and any add-ons. All prices are in US dollars. Placing an order and completing checkout constitutes an offer to purchase, which we accept by confirming your order and issuing an order reference.
Pricing and taxes
Prices are as published on the site at the time of your order. Professional translation services are not subject to Ohio sales tax; your order total will show a tax line of $0.00 rather than omitting it.
Turnaround estimates
Standard, rush, and same-day turnaround windows are estimates measured in US business days (Monday through Friday, excluding US federal holidays), beginning once we have received your documents and any information we need to begin work — not from the moment you complete checkout. Same-day orders must be placed by 10:00 ET and are limited by quantity as stated on each service page. Turnaround times are estimates, not guaranteed delivery deadlines; we will tell you promptly if we expect to miss an estimated delivery window.
How documents reach us
This site does not have a document upload feature. After checkout, your confirmation page provides an order reference and a pre-composed email to support@legaltranslationservice.com; you send your documents by attaching them to that email. Turnaround begins once we receive your documents in a legible, complete form.
Client responsibilities
You are responsible for providing legible, complete source documents; correct spelling of names and identifying details (particularly for certified documents, where a misspelled name can cause a translation to be rejected by the receiving institution through no fault of the translation); and timely responses to any questions we have about your document. We are not responsible for delays or rejections caused by illegible source documents, incorrect information you provided, or a receiving institution's requirements that are unrelated to translation accuracy.
Our acceptance and re-translation commitment
If a receiving institution rejects your certified translation specifically for a translation-accuracy issue, we will correct or re-translate the affected document at no charge. To use this commitment, contact us within 30 days of delivery with the receiving institution's rejection notice. This is a commitment we make directly to you; it is not a guarantee of acceptance by any third party, and it does not cover rejections unrelated to translation accuracy (for example, an institution requiring a different service — such as notarization or apostille — that was not part of your original order).
Apostille coordination — a note on our role
When you order apostille coordination, we coordinate the request with the relevant state Secretary of State (or the relevant federal authority) on your behalf. We are not the issuing authority; the apostille itself is issued solely by that government office, and processing times are outside our control.
Interpreting bookings
Legal interpreting is billed hourly, with the minimum stated at booking (2 hours on-site, 1 hour remote). Cancellation terms for interpreting bookings are stated in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Delivery
Digital delivery (PDF, by email) is included with every order. Printed hard copies and mailed delivery are available as add-ons, priced and described on the relevant service page.
Intellectual property and confidentiality
You retain all rights to the documents you send us. We do not claim ownership of your content. We use your documents only to complete and support your order, retain them only as long as needed for that purpose (see our Privacy Policy), and make an NDA available on request for litigation, patent, and corporate work.
Payment
Checkout currently uses a demonstration payment system. No card is charged, transmitted, or stored through this site. This is disclosed clearly at the payment step of checkout, along with test card numbers for demonstration purposes.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your order is limited to the amount you paid for the specific line item giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including delays or losses resulting from a receiving institution's decision, except as expressly stated in our acceptance and re-translation commitment above.
Disputes and governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your order will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Warren County, Ohio, and you consent to that venue.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time; the effective date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
