What counts as a page?

A page is up to 250 words of source text — not a physical sheet of paper. A dense one-page certificate with 300 words is billed as two pages; a short document with 150 words is one page. Word-priced services (contracts, litigation, patents) are billed on the same principle, just directly by the word instead of in 250-word blocks.

Your language pair also affects the price: the base rate is multiplied by a language tier — from ×1.00 for common languages up to ×1.60 for rarer ones. Your exact multiplier is shown before you add anything to your order.

Why is patent translation priced higher per word than contract translation?
It reflects the added specialization patent claim language requires — a translator needs both the technical field and patent-claim conventions, a narrower combination than general commercial contract translation.
Does the language pair change the price?
Yes — the per-unit base price is multiplied by a language tier: common languages (Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian) at ×1.00, up to rare languages at ×1.60. The exact multiplier for your pair is shown before you add anything to your order.
Is rush pricing a percentage or a flat fee?
Rush (next business day) is +40% of the line’s base price. Same-day is a flat +$95.00, and is limited to smaller orders — 5 pages or 1,250 words — since same-day capacity is genuinely limited. It isn’t offered on litigation & eDiscovery or patent translation.
Do you charge sales tax?
No — professional translation services aren’t subject to Ohio sales tax, so the tax line on your order shows $0.00.
What if I need more than 10 additional hard copies?
Contact us directly — our standard order form supports up to 10 additional certified hard copies per line; a larger quantity is easy to arrange outside that limit.
